I always tell anyone visiting to go to H,D,Developments @ 359 Little Lonsdale Street,  go up stairs to their museum

Harley City 770 Sydney road Brunswick also has a Harley museum... & Highway 31 cafe is across the road is worth a look...

I'd second the suggestion re the City Circle Tram - it is free and a good way to see the city
If you are into sport - National Sports Museum at the MCG is interactive and the kids really enjoy it - the MCG tour is pretty amazing ( if into sport esp AFL /Cricket)

Shopping - South Wharf has a large number of shops in it -
Harbour Town - Docklands - has Tunza fun - kids play area - bit pricey but there are deals on the internet if you can find them
Crown also has a kids / big kids fun area ( already mentioned but can be a bit difficult to find)

    enjoy !

LOL walka, I bet you don't.
I take it you are bit older than 6 though?

Have you been down to GO road? (nice day trip with the Mrs)
How about Harley City Museum, opens 3rd Sat of every month, but they'd open it for you anytime if you'd tell them you are out of town.
