Hi guys just wondering about a few things.
1 - im after a big sound, and performance, which gives better sound on a 07 sporty?
2 - some prices vary and im getting different prices on different sites ranging from 540 up to like 900 help??
3 - i would like the down swept ones that well i call ground thumpers, but very pricy, am going to try M&M but not sure on part nos,
4 - also i like the V&H short shots anyone had any experience with these ones? how loud? and performance wise?
A friend just put a set of the V&H Big Radius 2in2 and SE tuner on a 2008 1200 custom. Got it dynoed high 70's hp, I think 78 hp. it got a big sound. (loud). May get a bit of attention though. as Bonkerz said. But they do look good.
Ive had the side shots, and theyre loud, trust me you will need the quiet baffles and not only to quiet it up but to increase back pressure.. but again even with the quiet baffles there still loud but not ear spltting.. the baffle you get standard, well i wouldnt call it a baffle its more of a resonator design. in other words its straight through. I would think they would be similar to the short shots
I had these on the dyno and acheived 84hp atw, but lost all of my midrange which is what you dont want. I placed the quiet baffles in and gained a bit of my mid range t back but not all of what i was expecting.
also with most of the pipes, you will need to grind a bit of the mounting bracket to stop it from grinding your belt.
After all this process i came to two conclusions.
Stick with the standard headers and slips on best bank for buck for mid range power
or, like i have done now
2 into one pipe...... and the best are D & D bobcat exhaust... i cant express how good the note is and the mid range power.
They are quieter that the V&H side shots and offer a very deep note at idle.. I have only put them on two weeks ago but everyone i bump into comments on how good the note is.. At idle it sounds bigger then a 1200. have a look at this link in you tube.

ps - you can purchase them form Mark, M&M Cycles a little more exp then V&H'S
d&d's look ok, not sure about the sound, sounds more like a jap bike really, and from what i can see looks like you will have to forward controls???? I like that they make more in the mid....i'll be keeping my eye on these....

Bassani Sweepers? Ring Walka @ VPW
Hi Nim I have the Vance & Hines Big Radius 2 into 2. They look great and are pretty loud, but does sound awesome. Check out video below. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q6zJT7nLBGg
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uhzltjqc_1w Being a straight through pipe config, without a balance tube between each pipe, you will only gain some extra power at higher rpm. I went for looks and sound. I would have preferred the Hooker Trouble Makers but they stopped making bike pipes a couple of years back and the only ones availabe didn't have the o2 sensor plugs. Have since fitted a SE heavy breather and the bikes runs alot better. Just need to find a good tuner to update the TTS. PM if you need any more help.
As Crackers said, try Walka at VPW (site sponsor) as I remember reading somewhere he had Trouble Makers in stock but not sure what model or even if he has some left now, he might also have first hand experience with them from someone he sold them to. As sssmour says they don't make Hookers any more however I think they were coming out the same factory as V&H's anyway so in essence they are the same thing. Mate had them on a Softy and they sounded shidot but he seems to think his SE slipons gave better performance after he installed a 95ci kit but never got it dyno'd to back it up. Freedom Performance also do a similar look to the big radius pipes as well.

These sounded BIG and gave great power, but I was also running some minor mods like TC88 etc

NOt wanting to distract form SPorties but my Fatty had Big Radius on when I got it and I lasted four days before I asked the dealer to refit the original se2S because I was sure I'd get booked. Spectacular improvement in performance, (and it doesn't blow flames anymore!) but the original owner had not fitted a tuner. Now I wouldn't mind to V&H back on, just for looks, but the tuner is essential.
The short shots look cool but do impact on performance and they have a high "cracking" note. The SEs are very deep and sound great but stillvery loud. The look is a bit ordinary though IMHO.
