I went to put a deposit on a 2011 Sotail today at the Harley dealer and i noticed that the full dressers now come standard from the factory with the 103 cube. My question is does anyone know if H.D has any plans in the near future to put the 103 in the softail range? If they do i will hold off and buy later!

i think it was just coz of the extra weight of the tourers?

Me thinks they may well have too make it standard or fall behind, compared to a lot there underpowered

Daggs, they also had a 2011 Street bob there in denim black. What is your opinion on this bike?

Fkn love mine today just as much as day one so my opinion of a Denim Black Street Bob is pretty high !!

I will be pumping mine out to 107 cubes one day soon, no real need but why the hell not lol

with my vets discount i can ride away on one for $21k , sounds like a fkn good deal for that, ill nearly get that for my old softail. I just want a tough looking real mans harley, put a few skulls on it etc.

Yeah I love the no frills hot rod look of the street bob, not in to bling, great bike

Wouldn't surprise me that HD do give a generous discount.
My dad was a T.P.I. (ex WW2 POW) and he recieved some good benefits. Sure helped to keep food on our family table.
And the yanks do look after there returned servicemen a whole lot better than our ex serviceman here in oz (shame).
But as for the size of the HD discount, I have no knowledge of that.

I wish i hadnt started this..... T.P.I Veterans are exempt from paying G.S.T on ANY new car or motorbike, they are also exempt from paying stamp duty on a new car or motorcycle.
Nothing to do with H.D itself and everything to do with the ATO>

Anyway, i took a street bob for a ride yesterday and they guy said that had slip ons but that the only change from factory. The bike felt slow and very quite and not what i expected. Are they just made that way from the factory and you have to put new pipes and a new breather kit on them?
My brand new 80 cube motor is more powerful and loud.....

The 103 cube in the softail is a an upgrade by the dealer yeah? I was wonderingt if H.D had any plans to make the softail 103 cube from the fatcory.

 I think the salesman has too many black gloss bikes so he is just trying to offload one!

in the end its what you like mate , ride em all , buy the one that suits you, YOU DESERVE THE DISCOUNT , hope your riding real soon ..

I recon the 103 will be in the softails in 2013 every 7 years they change them.well used to.

I beleive that the 103 tourers are sold as a limited in the states, hd aust decided to make them standard on all tourers here and nz. you still need to upgrade cams pistons and heads if you want to take them to stage 4

I think all the bikes are going to 103 they need to keep up with the new Victory'
