Hi all,I was after some input on what people believe to be the best slipons for my 08 low rider. I am really just after a nice sound and nothing to loud, as i don't want hassles with the law if you get me?

I know there are several brands available,but am unsure which ones are the best in sound and not reducing performance and also not breaking the bank with price.

I will be fitting a power commander and a big sucker also with the mufflers,but am unsure if V&h or S&S and so on are best suited to what i want.

Any input would be appreciated.

PS - i have heard you can do some sort of mod to the stock exhaust,I am unsure what it is or what is involved,but apparently by closing the butterfly valve somehow it creates a better sound ????? Again i am unsure on how you do this and what needs to be done after this is done????Do i need apower comander or similar if doing this???????

If anyone has done this and can let me know what or if the sound changed and what had to be done and fitted,that would also be great.

As cash is low i really don't want to change the exhaust as i do like the look of it but just hate the asthmatic sound.

Hogman these are some of the things i am wondering also,like if i do a mod on the stock pipes, will i still have to have a efi mod fitted and a dyno done to remove any popping etc ?
I really like the style of the stock mufflers but not the sound,they sound to quite and blocked,a bit like me when i have a asthma attach.That was why i was thinking if i couldn't do anything with them i may go for S&S slipons, as the ones i saw look like stock,but then i have heard they are real loud is what i don't want.

I am the same and pretty happy with the power of the bike but not the sound,thanks for all the info guys,looks like it will be SE mufflers.
