Just wondering if anyone has done this.

Checked out a few things on ebay and other sites.

I know most people start projects etc and neevr finish hahahaa

but i actually intend to do it if it's obviously not that hard.

For something like this is it as hard as buying in newer hd or whatever

    read this http://www.chopaweeza.com/gpage6.html

but it doesnt say anything about kits, rollers, chassis etc etc

obviously you guys ad prices etc cause it's a business.

If the bike comes in part's it obviously cuts out the middle men and could save me a bit of money.

I was kinda just wondering what issues will come along.
Either way if i buy a kit from you guys or from the states ill stay have the same compliance costs here in aus right?

Just kinda wondering about taxes, freight and anything else i might need to worry about

have done a few here in Qld. it can be a nightmare, best to talk to the experts, most custom bike builders will have been through it many times and can show you ways to expidite the process. the Transport Department will give you a different story every time you ask them a question.

I had a guy in the shop this morning that bought a SMW Lo Boy, It was $11.000 US, once he got it to his door it cost $17.000 Aussie. The said the the Forks are too long, The Headlight has no Mount and is not ADR, the Speedo is not ADR, The Brake Lines are not ADR The Forward Controls dont bolt up, The Fuel Tank is missing and SMW dont want to help. He was in picking up all the corect stuff and sending more money that he said he shouldn't be.

All I can say is to anyone thinking of doing it DONT. It will cost you more in the long run than buying it here.
The other part of this is that the US is still herting. Most Supplyers over there are only holding less the 50% on there shelf. I know with companys that I buy from Im lucky to get 40% of a Order Placed. So I can garranty If you bought a Kit Bike in the US alot of it would not be supplyed

As far as I know the Lo boy is not Aussie registerable only the Godfather kit is within spec.  I got most of my kit in 2 lots just missing a clutch rod and a few minor spacers. It took Randy at SMW a long time to reply but seems to be coming to the party now. They do list on there website the Aussie Godfather which is the onoly one they supply that can be regod here.
