Hi guys and gals, Ive recently picked up my first harley, a 04 Dyna super glide with a mikuni, hi flow filter and bluf turbo mufflers.  Love the bike to death already (swapped from a jap sports), but im not that excited about the fuel economy.  I only got 225 kms from the tank (main).  Im reading that i should be looking at 300 ish.  I realise that it may be me hitting the trhttle hard because i just love that sound, but i didnt think it would drop the range that much.

The dealer listed that they had raise the carby needle one notch when they prepared it for sale, so I wondering if it may be that,

I also notice that I dont need to use the choke apart from cold 5am starts.  In sunlight (20degs ish) it just fires up.

What should i get from the main tank and any other suggestions ( the air filfer is clean.

    Thanks in advance

225 is not too far from what I consider normal.try different brands of petrol. I put a fuel calculator in the workshop forum to help in this very situation. While your mates might be getting more miles I'm sure you'll be seeing them in your mirrors.

thanks pal. ur right about the mirrors, im VERY impressed with the off the line performance.  Its not as quick as my 98 ZX9R, but i can out drag quite a few japs and pull up hills that had my 9 dropping a gear.  Economy isnt my goal, i just wnt it running right.

Ill try some shell fuel.  Im using 95 even tho the manual says its ok to use 91.  any sugestions.

One things for sure, im never going back to jap.

I usually get around 280 to 300km a tank, 250km if I give it a shit. Running Vortex since day one ;)

I've just started using Shell V power with great results. Carbys will use more fuel than injected.
