met John many years ago at his shop in Brunswick?  He took me out the back into the workshop area and showed me what he'd just finished building/making etc.  Blew me away with his knowledge, and I never forgot it,yeah,cool.  He'll give me the run down on whether the sporty crank can be repaired or not. I see you now have his number. I recently dropped off some engine work for him and i know he's gone/going to Lake Eyre to do a speed run on one of his machines and will be back on 31 March. Cheers Dutchy.
