I use Redline Shockproof. Have done for a while and my bike loves it. Gear changes are smooth and she does'nt clunk as much,

I run a good quality GL-5 spec 75-90 in the tranny. I don't stick to a specific brand, but only quality brands are considered.

I too use HD formula + in the 09 BargeGlide Primary, but have run ATF in the EVO successfully for years. Never heard of compensator issues in the EVO engine, but there are plenty of issues with the later model (09 and up) compensators. Come to think of it haven't heard of problems with the 88's either.

Not so sure 'shear' rating of the fluid is the problem, rather the lack of channels in the compensator shaft to provide access for the fluid to properly lubricate the moving parts. Sorry for poor explanation. Plenty of info on this issue on the stateside boards.
