Has anyone here had any experiance with the "Ride Str8" or "True Track" stabelizers avaiable for the big twin rubber mounts
My 08 EG handels like a pig, my dealer is no help as he says "If HD don't make it then I can't tell you anything about it".
I've read here that "Ikon" shocks can inprove the ride quality, wich is another area I find sadly lacking mainly due, I feel, to limiter rear wheel travel, and also handeling. So I'll possiably try them as they appear to be well recomended.
Any other advice such as fork braces or steering dampners which some of you may have used would also be appreciated
I realize that the Black Pig is never going to handle like my 748 or ride as smoothe as my old Boxer but I was expecting better from HD in 08 and as I'm reasonably happy with my 03 1200 sport with the std. adjustable forks and shocks I thought five more years development would show even more improvment in this area, maybe not.
Any / all advice along with witty responces would be appreaciated
Thanks in advance

Thanks rt it's because of 1st hand experiance like yours that forums like this are so helpfull to the masses.
Did you buy the True Track online or locally and did you fit it yourself? It seems simple enough to fit but sometimes it pays to have the professional fit it in case of problems down the track. One post from another forum elluded to possiable gearbox case fractures but I've not heard of that since.
Thanks again
Guys for me its been 13 yrs since I been on any bike and 6 months now with my 07 RKC. It still feel like the arse end is gonna slide out from under me when going on round-abouts cornering etc. I just cant get it to fell right for me. Previously I've had 5 other Jap bikes & never felt so uneasy in the cornering
Im 120kg now and have the standard shock is set almost to max pressure for 2 up riding. Any ideas how to set it up right or is this a bug with the RKC?
Does the torsion bars help the slow cornering speed or just fast runs? I know the RKC at high speed develops a wobble which these stablisers can eliminate hopefully.
Thanks
I just found this site which contains some good installation pics for the True Track for the dresser models.

To any south aussies reading this thread, who are interested. I know that MR motorcycles can get hold of the true track also.
It,s on my list but I need to much other stuff for the time being..
Another thing I found was that the standard handlebars make you lean forward in an un natural sitting position and that may also lead you to feel unstable, one of the best things I changed on my Roadking was the handlebars, which now come much further back and allow me to move back a little as well as sitting back and allow my legs to sit further forward, allowing a much more comfortable riding position, which helps a lot.And you will not eliminate the high speed wobble you get with a Bagger, unless you remove the bags as they act as big sails in the breeze and tend to knock the bike off line, especially in gusty conditions, but you will get used to it
nobody
I am still on the standard Dunlops, but they are too hard.Have used Avons for years, and really like them, they handle better and give better feedback as to what is actually happening, different carcass design I suspect.I am going to replace the Dunlops with ME880's just to see how they compare.
Well I have re-checked the tyres, and pressure was down on both wheels by 8 psi and the shocks had 0 psi. Dont these shocks hold a charge? as it was pumped up 2 months earlier.
There was an error on the original guage I was using. I now have 2 new guages as well as the compressor guage and they all indicate the same pressure, both front and back were down 8psi. I have also popped 10 psi into the standard rear shocks. Things dont fell too bad now, so i'll just sus it all out before I spend any more.
Thanks for posts, made me go look c closer.
hey twincam88b
never assume that the dealer has done anything, and never assume that anything that comes from the factory is done properly.I know of quite a few people that have leaks from the standard rear shocks, normally around the air line connection. And air pressire makes a big difference to the ride,I have run both the standard 13" factory shocks and the lowered 12" genuine shocks, and the both behave very differently with different air pressure.Have eliminated the problem now with the air ride suspension,as it has an onboard compressor,so I can alter it as I please. For your standard shocks, the genuine shockie pump is good quality and a good investment,as the valve connection it has wont allow air to bleed off when you remove it from the valve, which other types of pumps do,hence lead to inaccurate pressures being set.
