hello all, i purchased my first harley, a 2011 fatboy lo, a couple of weeks ago. in my excitement i ordered a set of vance and hines shortshots for $510 delivered from the states as harley heaven wanted $1200 fitted. was hoping to install these myself, until i saw the exhaust valve. does anyone know what i have to do with the exhaust valve to put the new pipes on or is it best to let harley heaven do it. any help would me much appreciated. thanks.

Well when you remove the pipes the exhaust flap will go with it.The cable left can be tied somewhere. You should re tune the bike and while your there you can disable the servo motor in the program. You'll need a race tuner so it's gona cost ya.So you might want to go to the stealers for piece of mind.

When I changed my exhaust I disconnected the cable at the servo motor end and removed it from the bike.  For all I know the motor still moves but I left it there to stop any error codes appearing.
