I've started using shell V power.Getting better fuel economy and noticable power increase.  Then I heard its not good for the injector o rings..Has anybody got any information on the V power ? Good or bad ? thanks

Mine seems to run a tad hotter on 98 (both V power and BP Ult)

    What were you using before?

I do a bucketload of k's & found V Power economy was crap. According to some technical harley people the preferences are Caltex vortex 98 the BP Ultimate or Mobil 8000. The latter are basically the same fuel & in some states are actually interchanged.

I got bitten on the arse like so many others by optimax so maybe I have a mindset against it.

Apparently the yellow additive in the Shell V turns to a jelly like substance causing all sorts of shit to happen.

The King of the Road loves the BP Ulltimate.

Different strokes for different blokes I guess.

Wouldnt put Shell in me lawn mower.......like the 95, my theory its got a longer burn than 98, so the power spread push's the pisstin that bit longer thereby creating more power/ measured at the seat of the pants........

I guess its a lot like muzzel velocity, you can get a big bang, that kicks but still only leaves the barrel at the same speed as a lesser charge, which travels along a flatter trajectory.....could be BS too.

Hmm ! Well I guess it's also up to the cam you've got .I have a 255 cam which gives high comp about 220 psi and is prone to detonation, with the 100 %  octane less chance of knocking so the ignition can advance its self giving more power. In theory sounds good but I'm worried about the orings ,will the higher octane distroy them ???
