Every product sold in Oz has a 12 month warranty. They cannot void it or cancel it for one part like chrome. Check here for more info on your rights http://www.accc.gov.au http://www.accc.gov.au/content/index.phtml/itemId/654676

a good breakdown on what your rights are and more links to relevent govt sites here http://www.dtvforum.info/index.php?showtopic=42782

    Warranty is warranty, period.
Got my primary replaced under waranty when the chrome had a slight flawin it.
No questions asked dealer just ordered one in for me.

Then again it depends on the dealer at the end of the day, there are good ones and more bad than good ones.

We have a great dealer in our area.

thanks all reading through owners manual page171 care and cleaning it is imperativewheels the wheels are cared for weekly to guard against pitting and corrosion next line reads corrosion of these components is not considered to be a defect in materials or work manship **(so does that cover all chrome fittings or just wheels and tyres) page181 2010 harley davidson motorcycle limited warranty that an autherized harley davidson dealer will repair or replace with out charge any parts found under normal use to be defective in factory materials or workmanship (if there is rust on chrome spokes 6 months old would that not be a workmanship issuethe rest of the bike isnt rusting) fuck this i will take all the way philpot

Damn new bikes (every brand) - EVO chrome still looks fantastic at 24 years old and with very little love showed. Come to think of it - so does the inch thick paint.

Greenies have had sway. Regulations don't allow for the right mix of metals/chemicals to chrome parts properly that lasts.
I've found a local bloke who does an excellent job - old school, destroying the planet he is.

    Greenies.. make you wonder.
the biggest polluter on the plannet is Air craft. now they are all grounded & the air world wide cleaner. also I know Greenies that fly a lot.

Back to Chrome on Harleys, before I bought a new Harley I would make sure I got full Crome!! then make sure the two year warranty covers everything ( Chrome included) if the chrome does not last the two years. I think the compleat part that has a problem in the Crome that was not there when I took delivery. Should be replaced.

If they told me when I was about to seal the deal, Chrome not covered, I would not buy & if everyone done that , Harley would soon cover it & make sure it was being chromed properly, from the start.

And old chrome ages nicely, even when it gets rust and patina it looks nice, this new chrome just seems to splinter and peel.

HD's the problem here. Seems there is widespread agreement their late model chrome work is dodgy. Fair Trading QLD agrees my rust/ corrosion within 6 months is warranty. My dealer told Fair Trading no deal.  The answers HD provided to me / Fair Trading are word for word what they said to our NZ mate and is current affairs program in the video.
Time will tell. I suspect further down the line, maybe in years to come , someone will leak a HD memo on standard answers to rust claims.
