Just got a letter from HD saying that if you have a recent 883 with the noise test sticker saying 96dbA@2850 RPM it should say 97dBA @ 2950. The part number of the new label is 14258-10 and they ask that you take the bike to a dealer to have it fitted.
Nothing like propmt recalls from HD. This recall was listed on the ACCC website on 11th jan.

You can register to get email notification about recalls on products you specify. Not sure how specific you can be, but I get emails about all HD recalls
Funny that I had mine done not so long ago. Took the bike to the shop.Gave me some shit about come back in 10 minutes.only to find they stuck the sticker over the other one And that took 10 minutes ???
Im not taking my bike all the way to the dealer to get a sticker that says my bike is 1 decibel louder!! On a stock muffler thats already been replaced anyway.
I work in sound and the most people couldn't even recognise a 1 db difference.... even most db meters used by coucils and EPA have a 3 - 5 decibel peak tolerance - like a speedo thats not calibrated they can be out that far!
I look forward to the day I get an EPA notice... 15 years as a sound balance engineer... pretty sure the guys at the EPA aren't exactly physics professors.....love a good show down!
