Wet weather tyre pressure

Watched a bike go past me today down the freeway while it was pissing down with rain and looked at his back tyre, very little tread was actually in contact with the road (only a skinny bit in the middle) naturally this would be the same in dry weather but the question is if your tyres were let down a bit for wet weather would it give you more tread in contact with the road therefore more grip

I've never mucked around too much with tyre pressures so I checked the rear on mine and its only 28lbs, I'm going to Frasers in the morning and its going to be wet and wild   so just wondering whether I should leave the pressure where it is or pump it up to 36lbs

Leave the tire pressure the same as dry riding, the front tire is doing all the work dispersing the main volume of water. If you lower the pressure you'll have a greater chance of aquaplaining.
When riding in the wet be smoother on the controls and you'll be surprised how much grip you have.

    Mainy,

28 is to low, that's the pressure I used to run on a track bike.

32 front and back is a good general pressure.( that's what I run )  If you go 2 up and gear I would go 34-36.
