Hi Fellas, just installed new apes on the street bob, got around to the clutch cable tonight and I cant work it out.
I thought that when you change to apes you just need to change the cable over and then adjust from adjuster on the cable itself.
I've got way to much play at the lever and its as hard as a rock. I've got the manual, but still cant work it out.
Can someone let me know what im doing wrong, or what i need to do
Cheers
you may have to screw the ajusters in then pop the derby cover off and ajust it at the clutch basket to take up ajustment at your pushrod than back to your cable ajustment should show you in your manual
sounds like there's a problem with the clutch pusher.(Where the cable joins the gear box).sometimes if the inner cable is pushed in the cable pops out of the holder .take the side plate off the gear box and check the cable is in its correct possie. If you do it with the bike on the side stand you shouldn'd loose any oil from the gear box.
Thanks for the reply fellas.
I think the problem was that i didnt loosen the old cable before removing. I had to get in and adjust the clutch as there wasn't enough of an adjustment on the cable. still had heaps of slack. Adjusted clutch and cable couple of times and all good now. Cheers
