Are softail rear shocks rebuildable??

    And if so is it a hard job, better to replace with new, other options or a link to the thread that is bound to be on here somewhere?

    I should add old softail as in 1987, not those u-beaut newby ones

    I dont think it would be worth while re building. Shocks that old could have fatigue cracks. I'd put my money into a new set.

    I geuss you have a few choises. Cheap Replacement ones,,, I sell Oil Filled for $200.00 a pair or Nitrogen Filled for $299.00. I can get you Progrsive for around the $650.00 mark or Ikon can rebuild your for around the same amount

    To my memory I don't think they are.

    Alot of softail owners back then would just go and fit a pair of froggy fournales as the originals were poor quality
