...And thanks up front to anyone who takes the time to read this, let alone try and figure out the problem...
I bought my sporty in May last year and she has never missed a beat... until now...
Fired her up on Wednesday and got about 500m down the road when I discovered a "noise". The sound is hard to describe and at first it sounded like it was coming from the carby... It's like a mid pitched squeel. It doesn't do it if you accelerate but it does when you back off. It doesn't do it when you stop at the lights whether you are in gear or nuetral. It does it in every gear but when you slow down to stop at the lights, it stops when you're doing less than 20km p/h... SO... I tried to locate the exact source of the noise but I can't because I can only make it happen while i'm on the bike and moving...
My good mate and long term and experienced Harley Owner Bird has been assisting me with the issue but we are both none the wiser at the moment...
WHAT WE'VE LOOKED AT
We hoisted it in the shed, opened the primary and checked for oil... All good. We tightened the primary chain a smidge as it was a little loose.
We tested while the back wheel was off the ground (still on hoist)... no noise...
Took it off the hoist... went for a quick spin... noise is back...! (See video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_XY5IKwelvM
Bird thinks it's coming from the Drive belt... so we adjusted that as it was also a little bit loose... noise still there though...
Any ideas?
well thats not nice noise ,my belt squeaks as well at times (has a worn edge will be changing it in winter) what i do is spray the belt with crc or silican spray and all is good for a few hundred ks try that the belt may have gone hard from age or a worn pulley,this may help isolate the problam ,good luck,

And I've looked at that thread you talked about and we're following that through now...
I've had to buy the whole kit... it was all pretty damaged in there...
What do you mean by heavy duty MAGIAN? Is there a different pulley you can get?
I'm assuming MAGIAN isn't a fan of a certain independent bike shop at Springwood, just outside Brisbane.
