Exhaust change

I have had the V&H bigshots staggered for about 18 months now and I think the time has come to effect a change. The pipes have done me well to now but they are very loud and don't have the HD rumble.

I'm looking for advise and suggestions as to what  pipes are available that give a deeper and slightly quieter sound ?

D&D fatcats 2 into 1 seem to be one that has a better sound.

+1 for what sycle said, why not get some quiet baffles first form V&H direct & see if they suit.

I have tried the quite baffles but they proved to be too restrictive and didn't bring the decibel level down much, tried to modify them (quite bafs) as well with no better result. I am not totaly dissatisfied with what I have but a change is fun and the topic comes up frequently. Seems to me that everyone elses pipes sound better than mine fark might haveta buy a new bike instead

Had a look at the RSD trackers on the V&H site Daz, it appears to be quite radical and very short for a 2 into 1, would take some getting used to.

Trouble is that pipes are not cheap so a carefull choice is needed.

    Hey Andij,

there are D&D low cats available in the US apparently that has the muffler swept up to give better ground clearance, no pics to see what they look like though.

If I had a softy my 2 choices would be either BUB Jughuggers, a mate of mine has them on his 07 Fatboy, they look good and sound good,  the other choice would be Paul Yaffe's Crack Pipes (SuperTrapp), the look and sound sick!  You can have a listen on youtube, the clip is called 'Nightrain sick' put it into google or youtube.

    Daz,

A little rock has informed me that RSD trackers don't fit a softy unless the pillion peg is removed, that's no good mate, my mistress will havta stay home

Well iv'e done the dirty deed, ordered a new set of BUB Rinehart 31/4 slip on mufflers. After a lot of searching and trawling through Youtube the Rineharts seem to be the go for a deeper slightly quieter sound. I decided on the slip ons so that it will be easier to change to the origs if the cops ping me for noise etc.

Will let yas know how they perform

Andij, I think that it means three and a quarter inch diameter, according to the pics they are a little shorter than the origs and about the same diam.

    Thanks for the help Daz.
