Sagging kickstand on sporty

The kickstand on the old sporty has started scraping when I go round left hand turns.  I replaced the spring a while back but it's still sagging.  I suspect it's either the pivot pin or the holes on the frame bracket have worn away.

When the stand is up, it's really loose in the frame bracket, you can move it around quite a bit.  I've done a bit of reading and it seems one fix might be going to a shorter spring but I can't seem to find one that's made for this purpose.  I've also read that later model sporty's have brass bushings but these are not on the 92.

I will tear it appart on the weekend so I can have a closer look as to why it's so loose.

    Has anyone else experienced this?

Curious to see the fix on this. Mates kickstand flops around under the bike on his sporty.

Recon your getting faster on the sporty and leaning over more, hence the scraping

I had the same problem on the 95 Sportser that I had a few years ago [ the Geekster ] I gave up on the Spring because the Frame Bracket was warn. I used a Large Oring tied on to the Swing Arm to hook on to the Stand once it was folded up

Ok, well it's only taken me around six months but I finally put on the new -1" stand on the bike and to my surprise the sagging is fixed!

The new stand rests nicely against the rubber stopper.  I did notice though when I pulled the old stand off that the holes in the frame bracket were quite worn and the new stand was still loose, but despite that, the spring holds the new stand up nicely.

This new stand must stretch the spring a few mm more than the old one.
