Can anybody put me on to a supplier or somebody who has got a bit of a

selection of side mount number plate holders for my 48.

                            (i know they are illegal but wtf )

You can get the factory one from any Harley dealer here in OZ. Its the same as originally fitted to the Iron, Nightster and 48 in the US. Its about $250 and bolts straight on, plugs into the wiring. Yep illegal. You will hear horror stories about people getting booked by cops hiding in the bushes waiting for them the first time they went out with a side mount plate....Your choice. Me, I put the factory one on cause I like the looks of it.

good find infidel was a heap cheaper but i was after one that mounts lower off the axle or bottom of shock

Live in Sydney and have been stopped an booked 2 times. Sold my side plate and installed the original one (which is ugly as hell however I am sick and tired of been stopped).

The rule in NSW says that it has to be visible at 45 degrees from 0 to 20 meters so unless you have the side plate right at the end of the wheel is not going to be legal.
