SERVICING QUESTION

Ok, I don’t take my 2010 FLSTFB Fatboty Lo  to the serviceman now. Mind you it's only done 8400k's ( I got the first service done by the shop but the 8000k service I did myself ) So now I'm just waiting for it to fall to bits so they can say “why didn’t you bring it in for a service”?

But anyway fingers crossed I won’t have any warrantable problems for the next 12 months while it’s still under new bike warranty....
But I do seem to have one problem. My throttle is a little sticky. I have been riding it a lot lately and noticed the throttle sticking. It’s not bad when you’re doing a 100 or 110 and want to stay on that speed since it’s working like cruise control....But I know it’s not right and want to fix it in case it ends up seizing or something.
So I need to know if anyone out here could help me with this little problem getting it back to that snappy throttle ( running or not ) that it should be. I was at SW Harley today and they were telling me it was a service problem and that it’s not a warranty problem?
They weren’t interested in helping me with the problem even to say do this or spray that just to help save me a buck or two. They were willing to book it in though. But before I do maybe I could get the help in here first?
Also I’d like to learn how to check and adjust the clutch cable properly. Baring in mind it’s had the stg 4 big bore kit-if that makes a difference????
Cheers any help would be appreciated....

might have to catch up, clutch cable is easy and I wouldn't think the throttle would be to hard to sort out.

sounds like yor return cable has jumped the rails....if you can look thru to your throttle body...while your looking at it twist your throttle you will see where the cables are fitted to the TB...it should snap back you will clearly see if the return cable has jumped or snapped and easy to slip back on track...mate its a peice of piss to replace ive done a couple of throttle and return cables...if all seems kosha...follow the boys lube instructions...good luck fella

Check your return cable adjustment. You need to have a liitle " free play" in the cables.

If the model has it ...have you looked at the throttle lock screw under the hand grip housing. Might be done up a bit too much and is partially binding...

Cheers everyone, MR Meikle I will be getting out my best synthetic "sperm" oil for the job  I do recall I need to get a work shop manual off someone still, hmmm   Also Ando I'll keep an eye out for that "little star thingy" haha. Bakes yeah for sure give me a call. I will also be trying everything else that has been mentioned and I will let you know if it's all good. I'll check that the cables are inline also Crasher. It will beat spending $1000 to get a sticky throttle lubed.... Cheers....

Dont forget to check the engine mount bolts they tend to work loose.
