Hi Wayne, I'm looking at possibly buying a V-rex imported, what would say $20,000 get me? thanking you advance Allde.
Hi mate,
Hows it going? I'm umming and arring about the idea of importing a heritage softail (2005 or 06). I've seen a couple for around the $13000 mark. What are the rough costs that you guys charge to bring one in? Do aftermarket parts like wheels and ape hangers cause many problems with getting them complied?
Thanks mate,
Robbie
Thanks Chopa, I'll email you this afternoon.
Chopaweeza how many models can you comply and what are they. Or do you outsource compliance the same as the others do.Because you stated in your reply that "most of us" use multiple compliancers.Seems to me would'nt it be cheaper to go straight to the compliance shop instead of paying for your mark up as well on the compliance.
If you are going to buy a Tri Glide at this stage it looks like the only ones that can comply one are in Queensland. I would have thought it would make more sense to have it shipped straight to Qld rather than via NSW.
I here on the grape vine that A to Z Imports on the gold coast is up for sale. I think they do some of their own compliance work as well as doing the compliance work for Geezers. Hope all goes well for anybody with bikes they were importing and compling. Not like what happened to the poor buggers that were dealing with chopperworks.
Post up a link when the new website is up please Wayne
I will try to keep this as short as possible...
years ago i got ripped off quite substantially by a scammer. and it isnt something you get over. to this day, if i get a sniff of a scam, or if someone attempts a swifty on me i go PHYCO.
these days there are more and more scams , or providers who promise the world, and then cant deliver as per the agreement.
in my dealings with importation i have seen and heard of all sorts of dodgy's. When i was looking to import my OLD ironhead, i spoke to and asked many questions to CHOPPAWEEZA (sorry if i spelt that wrong). I found him to be totally up front, and with some knowledge myself, knew he was right onto what the situation is. .He had plenty of time for me and my questions, and was totally professional.
i could not say the same for some of the others out there...
Peace of mind is WORTH A LOT. the last thing you want when laying out hard earned cash overseas is to spent the next few months worrying.
as it happens i ended up finding what i was looking for ( a complete XLCH) in a shed locally. so i never had to use CHOPPAWEEZA.s service, but by writing this i hope it repays him in some way for the help he gave me (good deserves good).. and i would thoroughly recomend if you are looking into importing, you should talk to him.
PS i do not know CHOPPAWEEZA other than through this forum... this is not a adverticement for a mate... this comes from me to anyone looking to import who wants good service and to have a hassle free import.
I do not give personal recomendations easilly, only when deserved.
