Someone with a bit more knowledge may be able to help me.

I have installed the TTS system on my PC at home, updated witht the latest maps etc.  No problems.  Installed it on a laptop.   Borrowed for tuning purposes, the laptop is from work (Defence),  The problem I have is that I can install the software but get and error "Proxy Authentication Required" when trying to update. Laptop does not allow streaming direct to the TTS website.

My intention was to use the laptop for data collection, then transfer the file to the PC via usb stick and make any adjustments that way.

Am I able to independently download the updates and install them onto the laptopn via usb?

The Map files from the updated version I can install into the TTS folder in my documents but the software version is unable to read the files due to them being from a later version of the software.

Does anyone know if/where I can download the updated software from, save the files and install via usb stick onto the laptop..

I don't really want to purchase a laptop just for tuning purposes but will if i have to in the end.

    regards

    AJ

    AJ,

The message you are getting is because the browser is trying to connect through a proxy server.  I assume you are using Internet explorer, you can bypass the proxy by doing the following:

    1) In Internet Explorer go to: Tools\Internet Options\Connections Tab

    2) Click on Settings for the connection that is configured

    3) Un-tick where is says "Use a proxy server..."

Then all you have to do is make sure the laptop is connected to the Internet and you should be ok.

The laptop is most likely locked down to prevent streaming , .exe files, zip files and so on to prevent virus infection

I ended up giving up. I was doing this at work????
IE works fine, get all pages except the blocked ones.... Porn , wikileaks etc. When trying to use the updater in TTS it comes up with that error ref proxy. I rang help desk ( Comp Geeks) spoke to this bloke for about half hour, remote control over the laptop. He asked what it was for, ( dodgy) Happy as Larry to try to sort it out for me. This is where he lost me with scripts etc in the TTS Updater .exe file... He was looking for somewhere to enter a script so that it goes through the proxy prior to connecting to the host server. He had a look on the internet to see if anyone had a solution . In the end I told him not to worry as I would sort something out my end as far as laptop goes (suck up to the daughters to see if they would graciously allow me to use one of theirs....I can update from home, BUT, and a big one at that. The IP address would get flagged in Canberra and all hell would break loose.

Funnily enough it does exactly the same when trying to update Spybot as well. Can't connect due to proxy issues.

    So back to square one.

    Thanks for the responses though..

I thought about that, in the end I will take the easy option. buy a laptop I think. MSY have cheap ones for 300.00 which will do the job.
