Does anyone have a suggested set of jets to start tuning my carby? It's fitted to a 05 FXDX with Screaming Eagle mufflers and a free flowing airfilter, everything else is stock.

It backfires on over run, and I was told by the HD official mechanic that this was caused by my mufflers. Having worked on many engines including gas turbines that idle at 33,000 rpm, this sounded like condesending bullshit.

I have always had Guzzies etc until now and this is my first Harley so my experience in tuning is limited, any help would be appreciated.

It's going to be good to get the engine modified, I've concentrated on handling and braking up to this point, so that the bike will be a great all rounder rather than a straight line bike.

I managed to get a stage 1 kit through the link that Wozza gave me. It's a good website for those who don't have an extensive knowledge of how an engine works.
Experience has taught me to change things one at a time so I won't be chasing around for a solution for a problem that's compounded by too many variables. Mind you it's a change not to be working on multiple carb setups.
