Buy all the parts yourself with an old Australian complianced rigid frame and bolt it all together "with a bit of f**king around", probably save yourself 30%, a lot of stuff on / not on that bike will get you defect notices, looks good but new and sterile, this one is what you want,"classic"

No i`ve not done a new build but i`ve done a complete rebuild on my old shovel and years ago the parts were very exe, now with the dollar they are a big bit cheaper, send Walka at VPW a message he`d probably be able to get you a complete build done without the Sucker Punch price tag.

Was looking at the list of "special" vehicles approved for import yesterday and noticed Sucker Punch Sallys listed on there so they must be able to pass ADR if they are permitted for import.

I have eveything on the Shelf for you to build your own. We are the Austrailan Agents for Kraft Tech Inc, They are the fames that Sucker Punch Bikes are built on. A complete Bike in parts with ADR Aproved items is around $17,000. All you have to do is put it together, I can also help you with the Engineering side. as a ICV

George has been trying to get the 2 Sucker Punch Bikes he has ADR Approved so he can sell them as a production bike for just on 2 years now, I dont know if he will get them over the line,

it a shame if he dose as word in the US is that Sucker Punch Sallys is in a whole lot of trouble and is about to fold.

    Just on that note

Was looking at the list of "special" vehicles approved for import yesterday and noticed Sucker Punch Sallys listed on there so they must be able to pass ADR if they are permitted for import.

Just because it is on the Special Vehicles listed dose not guaranty that it can be regoed, The Sucker Puch Bikes on that list are from when George bought some in for the Melbounre Motorcycle Expo,.in 2008

Ok Issac where do I begin, Building a Bike yourself at home and a Company Building Bikes to Sell compete come under diffrent Rules.

You building a Bike at home comes under ICV,,, INDIVIDUALLY CONSTRUCTED VEHICLE (ICV) .

There are a few guidlnes to follow.

1 You must build of assemble the Bike your self.

2 The Frame must have a MSO Certifcate from the Manufature. or you can built a Frame your Self but you need to make two, 1 for Testing. The Testing Frame will most likly cut up during Testing

3 You must Fit Emarked Lights

4 .The Rake must not be more than 550mm, The Engineer runs a Stringline  from the Centre of the Neck to the Ground and from the Front Axle to the Ground, The distance between the two mark can not be more the 550 mm

5 The Bike must have 105 mm of Ground Clearance

6 The Handle Bars must not be higher that 380 mm for the Lowest Point of the Seat

7 All Switches must be labled

8 Fuel  & Oil Tanks must be Ruber Mounted, and the Fuel Tank Must have a Unleaded Filler. The Fuel Cap must be Labled with UNLEADED ONLY

7 Brake Master Clynders must be labled with what grade of brake fuild is in them

8 Handgrips and Foot Pegs must have no less that 50% of Rubber on the surface , Foot Pegs must also Fold up.

9 The Mirrors must be a serton size

10 Speedo Must have the Corect Coloured Waring Lights.

11 The Muffler or Exhaust must be 92 Db and not have Removable Baffles

12 You Must have Photos to Prove that you Build the Bike and Recits for All the Parts that you Bought.

13 You must fit Reflectors on the Sides and Back and the Rego Plate must be Upright on the Rear Gaurd.

14 It must have Front and Rear Gaurds, The Back Gaurd must be 45 Deg from the Axle

15 All the Brake Lines must be ADR Taged, DOT will not Pass.

16 The Engineer will give the Bike a Noise Test and Brake Test

    17 You have weight Certivcate.

Once a Engineer has inspected the Bike, he writes a report and with the Info and Photos you give him he sends it to Cambera, to get you a VIN Number. Once the Engineer gets the Vin, he will stamp it in to the Frame and you can head down to your Local RTA. Once at the RTA you have to show Copys of the Recets you have to pay stamp duty of the cost of the Bike in Parts. Then you done

A Company building a Production Bike has to follow the same rules except they have to have Test and have Reports done on every Part they put on the Bike, Every Nut and Bolt, Every Light,  EVERYTHING must have some type of Testing and a Result .

To complie a Production Bike can cost over $200.000 and that is just for one Model.

We are lucky that if we want to Build a Bike our selfs way can

Well worth the hassle of building your own and not farming it out to others, then you can blame yourself if anything goes wrong, i believe the secret is to build a good base from which you can change around, different tanks guards bars shocks and paintwork. and power it with a shovel and a 4 speed, but then again i`m biased.

If I was in the market for a new bike I'd like they're swinger. Much better than a new harley I reckon. Especially when you can choose a shovel motor and no fuel injection.
