G'day guys, I'm looking at putting a set of RSD Vintage King Apes on my 2011 Street Bob. I assume I'll need to extend my cables and wiring (internal) to fit the extra hight (currently got the stock 12" mini apes). Looking at getting some Magnum Shielding chrome braided cables (throttle, idle, brake, clutch).

A couple of questions, one I'm undecided on whether to go chrome or black. My bob is denim black (pic under Dyna - show us your bike pg. 10) but i've keep contrast here and there (eg. chrome V&H shortshots). Bloody hard to tell without actually seeing them on a bike so anyone with pics of similar setup would be good.

Secondly is there any advice, tips, things I should be aware of from people who've done this before. From what i've heard its pretty straight forward but the internal wiring can be tricky.

Mate, going through the exact same thing as we speak. Waiting on my 16" to arrive. I also ordered cables from magnum shielding, through M&M.

I went with chrome bars on my Bob, only because i have heaps of black on the bike already and wanted to keep a little chrome

I went with some cheap and nastys from Santee. They are a 1" bar, they only style and measurements that i liked to go with the street bob front end.

I like the plain type of apes from the old days, and this one was close enough.

Those carlinis look good though, if thats your thing
