Looking to buy a Shovel off Ebay

Looks "complete" but the "things to do" list and fact that present owner hasn't ridden it raises some questions for mine. Reckon the current bid ($13k) is a top price for it . . . .

kiwidave - Thanks for your reply mate. To be honest I am looking for a shovel but not FLH in particular. I know the 1200 FLH sold in the states had the "Electraglide" option aka Police option, which comes with some special bits (police siren which is incidentally included in this sale) and had few minor factory engine mods but I don't know the particulars.

I do however like to get a classic shovel that I can hopefully keep for a long time. What do you reckon kiwidave? Any recommendations? Any models are more thought after than others?

Filthy - thanks for your comments mate. If you notice, the "to do" list has already been completed by the present owner. He has paid in excess of 2k for the repairs and has the blue slip.

Gents, do you know if rego transfer from NSW to VIC is a simple matter?

    Cheers
    Vlad

     Hi Vladt,

In my opinion the following models have that something special,
not that anyone should pay any more for them of course.

    1977  FXS Low Rider
    1980  FXWG Wide Glide
    1980 -1982  FXB Sturgis
1982- 1983 FXR, FXRS Super Glide II ( Great handling frame.)
1983-1984, FXSB Belt. (Harley combined the FXS and FXB, only some 84 Bikes got the dual belt.)
1983  FXDG (Willie G's Disc Glide.( Sweet looking bike.)

I'm not including the original 72 FX as that is as rare as hen's teeth.
A mate owns an original (bog stock, ducktail, right paint etc. 1 of 2
brought into Australia by dealers at the time.)
By now it is very rare to find a bog stock original Shovel. I looked at
a few before getting my Evo. Couldn't find what I was after.
That FLH looks very interesting and original.
As always,  as Dave said,  Buyer Beware.
    Cheers,
    Cris.

There is a 66 and a 67 on ebay around the Melbourne area for around the 20k mark, would be worth a look , only if your not going to chop them or paint gay flames and skulls all over them you`d have an absolute classic, you`d never buy another Harley if you bought one of them. For an extra 6k  it would be worth a look.
