Delear turns to me and said that HD rec retail take it of fucking leave it

They are all friendly to you as long as you have the cash....YMMV. I just wonder if it isn't in their contract that they wont "wheel and deal" so as not to "cheapen" the Harley brand. But its not just Harley, a friend of mine bought his first Harley because his local Honda and Kawaka dealers told him they wouldn't budge on the price - the HD dealer didn't either but he expected that...lol.

I agree he probably could have been a bit more tactful, there is no need for rudeness, but there are 2 sides to everything. A very good friend of mine that owns an indy in Norway always says people trying to talk him down is a constant problem, and some people demand ridiculous discounts which are just not possible or sustainable by the business, he has to eat too you know, and his prices are already quite competitive. And the way he deals with it? If someone says the price is too high for something, he just takes it back off them puts it back on the shelf and moves on to the next customer without a word and ignores them till they leave. Maybe its not the best customer relations method in the world but his business is going strong, and word must have got around, because he says the problem is diminishing over time. And I must say I can see his point in one way, I had my own business for years and cheapskate customers who demanded a 1st class job but were only prepared to pay a 3rd class price were a constant PITA, and there were many I would have loved to have told to F**K OFF!.

In general I have found that if you have money they are nice as pie if you ask for a better price they all get pissy about it, I cant tell you the money I have saved buying overseas and every single time i have gone local for a quote first,

I say you get what you sow/preach etc I am happy to hand my money over where ever bu if you cant be nice and at least answer the question then f you.

All had to say No I am sorry thats the best I can do and more than likely you would have brought it anyway or put off buying it for a while or looked on EBay either way telling someone to F off is only going to get one result people will f off and not come back and they will tell everyone they know what you told them to do as well, hence this thread,

PS is the bobber out now for the hunter cycles i am looking at getting one for the wife,

I think its normaly the salesman . he has a good or bad attitude, P .S opened a store near me , I thought great , they got a mechanic who is known in the area and i trust , so good stuff he can look after and service both my bikes, so good stuff . I spent around 4 grand on servicing and some accessories in 3 months .

Anyway i go in the city store , for some draggin jeans , spot the price but decide to help out the local store cos i'm glad it opened and want too shop local ,spend my money there and help to keep it open, I go in ask for the same pair , was given a price and 10 % discount , just what they give anyone and everyone ,

I say there cheaper in your city store there on discount there , he says no there not , i say i've just left there to buy them here , Answer was why should i give you a bigger discount ,

my answer was because i'm a big spending customer , i thought you would want to look after me , and besides i'm only asking , you to match your own STORES PRICE .

His answer was , well if thats there price go buy them there .

My answer , I since bought another new bike , i've since spent thousands on servicing and accessories , plus new jackets and jeans for me and the missis . and every time I'VE DROVE PAST MY LOCAL STORE TO DO IT .

PS no longer has my customer loyalty , that one bad attitude made me start looking around for better deals and guess what I'M FINDING THEM . i wil not bag the city store in fact i think there service is very good and the staff very helpful , but has far has i'm concerned , the local store can get fucked, while he works there i will not spend my money there and keep him in a job , and they know about his attitude , cos has one of the other staff said when i told him the story , He's just a midgit with a chip on his shoulder .

Let your wallet do the talking.

it hard if the item is over a 1000 (no tax) but if you can break it down do that.but with the dollar up on the US all the retailers have been asking the govenment to tax under a1000 they they cant compete .
