Hey.... having a blast riding the harley around and wondered what temp should I be watching on the oil tank gauge ?
Q2.... Is melbourne hot enough to run a oil cooler ,or is a more say for Qld weather ?
Thank guys ..
thanks for that ..i think my gauge is in F ..it runs about 160 to 180 ...maybe thats close to 100 deg
That's actually pretty cool. The idea is to keep it around 100 to boil off any crap.

ok ..I'm about 85 deg ....any way bike is running well , the gauge could be out by 10 % too i guess ....main thing was i wasn't cooking !!
Mine has travelled close to 800km and is due for its first service.
I noticed it was running at 230f. (110deg) The outside temp was around 38deg.
I have been told it should be lower after the oil is changed.
Thanks for that info speedzter,
no need for a oil cooler at this stage.
have a 2007 Street Bob..... and recently fitted an Oil Level & Temperature Dipstick with lighted LCD readout... today with city temp in high 20's the oil temp was 240dF....
