unplugging "active air" thingy behind air cleaner assembly

Took my 2010 Deluxe in to Thundertech (BTW really nice blokes to deal with) to fit my new Works Performance Softail Shocks the other day.... and the mechanic commented on the unplugged active air "thingy" at the back of the air cleaner assembly.... He asked me if I was getting any error codes?

I have had this connector unplugged ever since I fitted my S&S aircleaner over 8 months ago. I didn't know what it was, or even know the bike had an active air thingy?? But I did have Frasers "turn off" the active exhaust flap valve at the first service, do you think they would have turned off the active air thingy as well, seeing as I haven't had any error codes???

So my question is.... is this an error code waiting to happen? Should I have got an error code immediately?   Should I get it checked out?

Thanks to anyone who can enlighten me on this ridiculous and needless technology fitted to these late model bikes..... I should have just bought a carburetted Evo.

I loaded a map with TTS that took care of it

BERMS - I have mine unplugged and wrapped in heat shrink. It is now tucked up under the air kit assembly, and if you use a TTS map to disable it, you will not get any error codes.
