got pulled for an RBT on my way home from the vets run yesterday....all good...was requested to move up the line to the next officer..........

WTF I thought....so I move up....license sir....yes was my reply.....can I see it sir....sure here.....do I live local....yes it's on my license if ya have a look..... then he asked " who do you associate with ??? " WTF why would you ask that I say....just a standard question is the reply.... well I have been associating with the SES for over 20 yrs I reply.... really sir....yes..... then the other one arrived with a camera & I was asked to get off my bike....they looked over my vest & asked about the forum patch....I said it's an INTERNET chat group of Harley followers....really....yes why ?? would you find that hard to believe I ask.......   no responce.... so then they ask me to stand still & take a photo off the forum patch...... WTF would you want that I ask.....this nearly knocked me over...." WE ARE COMPILING A DATA BASE OF ALL BIKE RELATED GROUPS FOR FURTHER INVESTIGATION " they then let me get on my way....

So the big blue gang are no doubt watching the WWW to gain some ( in their eyes ) valuable insights into the average Aussie Harley rider.....

Let them look they will see that most of us are not the type that they are interested in. On Wed, we went on the VVMC Mystery run. On the way out of Masclefield , RBT's on all exits. We got pulled over and the mandatory blow in the bag stuff. The cop got all uppity as the bloke in front never stopped where he exactly said he wanted him. I though here we go... Then he asked where we were from, then saw the patch, ribbons etc and said "I don't need to bother with you blokes". Let us all through. Luckily most of the guys don't drink, myself I had 2 lights an the only other bloke drinking had 2 heavies in the space of about an hour that we were there.

I suppose it is the Harley thing, all painted with the same brush.

If they ask to take your pic tell em to get fucked. tried that shit on me a couple of years ago, pulled out my cam and took pics of them plus the number plates on the pigmobile. Then gave them my briefs business card. Any more questions, ask the lawyer.

The only thing you need to tell them is your name, address and birth date, which is on your licence anyway, you do not need to say anything else, if you start answering with "no comment" they will realise you know your rights, i dont know about the photo thing but i'd be surprised if you couldnt refuse unless you were charged with a criminal offence, if you feel the need to give-in to a photo request turn ya back to the camera.

It's a wonder we don't have a member here who's Lawyer ?

If it's a RBT it's a RBT only. They cannot take pictures without your permission or anything else.

 its hard to believe they have funding for this , a scum bag tried to drag my young bloke out of a shopping centre wife got a copy of the ctv on disc showed the scum bags face clearly gave it to the police and they did f#%k all. should have told them the scum bag  had a vest with patches

Just as there is a perception that cops tar Harley riders with the same brush there is also the same bias against cops on here. Some are tarring all cops with the same brush.

Everyone is different and when it comes down to it everyone has a job to do wether you like it or not.

The way I see it, if a cop asks to take a photo, who gives a shit. Smile. I'm sure if you refuse they'll find something to ping you with. Just do it and get on with your day. It aint that hard. Why piss 'em off?

On a more serious note. I have nothing to hide or worry about. I bought a motor bike because I could. Now if certain people whether they be private or Govt don't like that well bad luck.

Thay can take my picture if they want, but I will not be held responsible for the lens cracking.

 i would have thought if the police did want your photo they would be able to get your photo from your licence via the rta
