any one else out there with an iron 883 find that the matt black paint scratches easily?

yeah - it's definitely not real durable. I was considering getting it re-sprayed gloss, which would suck.

Yep, after removing the tank and guards a few times during various mod stages mine is definitely showing lots of scars up close. The bad news is that it isn't matt, its satin (or 'denim' in Harley speak) and Harley don't have a paint code for it. When I asked Frasers they simply said I'd have to buy all new tins from the factory in the factory finish - at great expense.

i agree gloss would def suck! that matt finish is one of the irons best features..

harley have quite a few matt bikes out now so you think they should have a code.. thanks for the link steve i will look into that although i might be a little scared to use it myself just incase i dont get the right finish and it turns out dodgy
