So it isn't insured? If you sell it the way it is you won't get much money for it - is it stuck in gear or is the selector bent so that you cant move it into gear - you need to get someone with a bit of knowledge about getting it started then get a few quotes to fix it up

You won't get much selling it as is and it'll be very difficult to sell.   Get it assessed by a repairer and get a quote for the damages they may be minor if you say that to the eye they aren't that bad.

If you can post up a few pics that would help give us an idea.
Accident damaged bikes can have hidden damage, like like slightly bent frame and swingarm etc'.
Also Vrod's aren't quite as popular as big twins, so as a shot in the dark not knowing what's needed, I would think
anywhere around the $12-15k mark as is.
Try and get a quote for repairs, then look at the asking price 2nd hand and go from there.
Looking at bikesales, they are asking from $17k up, and repairs would likely start at $1.5k upwards.

    Hope this helps.

Hi Jan, Welcome to the forum.

Sorry to hear of yours and hubbies dilema. Hope he recovers with little grief.

Have you thought about contacting the guys that you bought the bike from? They would be able to advise you about repair costs and selling the bike, although, they most probably wouldn't offer you as much as you would get by selling privately,,,, if you've got the time and are prepared for the effort.

Your hubbie is a lucky guy,,, in more ways than one
