I got SE slip ons and I reckon they can be pretty loud, not so loud you need earphones to ride, but plenty loud enough to feel guilty riding up the street at 5 in the morning and certainly loud enough for people in cars to hear you coming. I've ridden past cops plenty of times without even raising an eyebrow - if you ride normally and don't do anything crazy they'll leave you alone. If they want to pull you over they'll pick any one of a million things - i wouldn't worry about it.

 I gott a set of these 2 weeks after buying my 883C.  I think they sound like a quad bike with factory exhausts.  They are loud, but I like that.
