Mate has just fitted a 60 spoke to his Sporty (2008 I think) He says the brake caliper is hittin the spokes, is this likely or has he set it up wrong(spacers maybe). He reckons the extra spokes make the wheel wider (not the rim but the depth the spokes sit out) Apparently the rim is to suit twin disk but bike only runs a single?

Have been looking at wheels a bit lately and some suppliers say that the caliper will need 'clearancing'.  ie grind it back a bit.

Yeah that was the first thing I came up with, doesnt look like it will need much at all, so will be the cheapest option.

To quote American Classic Motors as on ebay

"TECH NOTE!  SOME MODELS WILL REQUIRE SLIGHT "CLEARANCING" (GRINDING) ON BRAKE CALIPER TO CLEAR THE SPOKES.  ANOTHER OPTION WOULD BE TO PURCHASE AN AFTERMARKET FRONT CALIPER.  IF YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO DO EITHER, PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE"

So how much needs to come off and what part of caliper?

Yes you just need to grind the Cailper down a little, The Problem is that the Makers of After Market Wheels only have one type of Hub for Narrow Glide Front Ends and the try to use it on every model, Some years need a little bit of tweeking to get them to go on. If he is happy to tweek the Wheel will work fine. and should look great
