The hard part is removing the rear lights and license plate mount/lights. It helps immensely to have the bike off the ground so that the tyre is down away from the guard. This way you can get access to the wiring that is tucked into clips on the underside of each side of the rear guard. You'll need some torx head bits for the side bolts too.
