Well for starters its been resprayed that way as there are no bar code stickers on it and the tunnel has no paint on it...
There is a petcock bung in the bottom by the looks of it and tank equalising hose connectors ???
Have painted many tanks in my time and it doesnt look like an injected tank to me, i think Pizzlin is on the right track....
Have never seen that blue before but that doesnt mean it isnt a factory job as you can have a lot more colour choice in the states.
Where did you get it from ???

Ah the things you type when full of piss....
Looked at some old tanks and it appears to be a fuel injected tank, NOS then where are the bar codes ?
If you can find a PPG paint rep or dealer in your area you should be able to get them to tell you what
year model them colours came from they are the only ones i know of with factory colour codes and
    formulas for mixing HD colours...
Remembering that HD factory uses Ford US colours for there paint schemes......
Could the tank be of an "Old Mans Armchair"....one of the many Tourers that we dont get to see in Australia ?

Also i have never seen a factory tank with overspray on it ... eg: Check the rubber bungs on the end of the crossover tubes and that deffinatly looks like oversray to me, the factory may get sloppy some times but not to that extent not that i have ever seen anyway...
Now if were talking rust underneath factory finishes then that is another story all together, for another time....

Again find a panel shop in your area that uses PPG, its only a phone call for them or a search thru 2006 colours and they should be able to tell you ....
