For Harley, putting a few new parts on an old model is a new model.

For what it's worth, I like it.  The lean towards blacker bikes is good I reckon.

would it be the easiest job on the planet, design for HD

get a Nightrain, put on a set of fatboy pipes and a set of black trees,
surprised they dont call it the "red back"

didn't like it at first, but warming to it... looking closer I like...

    black rims

    black fork lowers
black tripple tree and shape too
    two tone heads
have always liked Burleighs Ram Horns which they no longer make so like these bars
black mirrors and indicators and polished leavers give a bit of a contrast

then again it's a softy and the only softy I really like is the Fat Boy Lo

Love it. This makes a lot of commercial sense following the success of the Nightster, Iron and 48 - stripped down bikes that sell a bit cheaper but with more margin for HD.

    Typical Harley.

Here is you new bike , great value for money.. ( looks shithouse )

Here is the parts catalouge $$$$$

To make it look like this you will need to spend bucket loads

It seems to me to be a Fat boy Lo with a wide glide front and rear.

The Tank/paint makes it look too Nightster like.

I don't mind it at great start to a blacked out bike . lets face it how many harleys have the original pipes on them anyway.

Sort of like the Holden Belmont

A base-line model really just like the superglide standard.

Bet they don't ask a baseline price though.

Through my eyes I reckon all the softail range look awesome, that one - looks average. Bit like a mongrel dog really. Like a cross between a Dyna & a Softail. Bring back the Springer Softail

Are they weeding out the ducktail.
Imo the ducktail finishes of the rear with a sense of tuffness

    Looks like a postie bike...

If it's price right it will sell... It does say Harley on it somewhere, doesn't it?

     What goes around, comes around.

Used to be the Japanese copied the Harley look.

Now Harley makes a new model that looks like an old Honda!!!!!
