There's something about the look of the Victory's that doesnt appeal to me but this one has potential.

Well i would like to see there price, I had a look at a victory when it came down to the nitty gritty , they want the same for the bike has a comparabile Harley , and a LOT LOT more for accessorices , they don't offer the same back up , and extensive dealer ships has Harley , the resale is not the same there the new kids on the block but think there worth the same or ore , for me it was the arrogance that stopped me buying,

hey red was just a general observasion some bodys want the look but not the price of an hd i still have an 88 heritage got an 08 rock because i thought & was told new models were better tech /performance so i got one i was looking at other brands for a time because my concerns with dealers and finding a hd wokshop who is not going to rip me off again i probably would have a victory:

I'm a person that looks at the motor first then the style, to me the motor is the heart of the bike.

I just don't like the look of that motor its all fin's no style. but i like the look of Panhead motors so i might be sick LOL

    Cheers

ps i recon i would need to ride one to see what it felt like.

Old johnno could hear a shovel coming before his dog could, the roller door would go down and he would be nowhere to found the funny ol bugger

Had to laugh then, brings back memories. Had to get some bits for a walla before I bought the half container of 45 stuff off sy. On the back of docs ol sporty and pull up, roller door down. Hang about for a while and run out of ciggies so doc heads off to the shop while I wait. He gets a couple of hundred yards up the road and the roller door opens hahaha. When doc gets back the old bugger cracks the shits and could not understand what hd were thinking changing things so much, love him or hate, a real old school character.

    1) "they want the same for the bike has a comparabile Harley " - From an an engineering persprective, R&D, sophisticated design, component quality will always equate to more dollars, therefore logic determines the Victory should cost more but it doesn't (and even if it did I'd still buy one)

wON'T ARGUE ABOUT THAT ONE I KNOW FUCK ALL ABOUT MECHANICS what i do know is now a days you will be hard pressed to fins a bad bike

    2) "...and a LOT LOT more for accessorices" - What ever you're smoking you should stop it now ?

Passenger backrest and luggage rack --- riders backrest --- stage 1 exhaust with air and download tune price has per there quote $3890.00

    3) "they don't offer the same back up" - Dealer attitude pre & post sales has been a welcome change for me, nothing too much trouble, e.g; They fitted a free "Guard Dawg" immobiliser system to help get sale(trust me they didn't need to, I was sold anyway) fukin thing nuthin but trouble & left me starnded a few times (refer another thread here) Victory in Newcastle (Brisan's) sent a van 100klms to retrieve bike, had it all repaired & returned the very next day ! Now back in my day, we'd call that service !

I would call it good service has well , but its more the dealer than victory , Peter stevens adelaide will pick your bike up , but peter stevens melbourne will not , believe me i know

    4) "for me it was the arrogance that stopped me buying" - FUK ! If that was criteria HD should be penniless, been into a HD dealership latel

Once again i agree , the dealer was freindly , but could'nt sway me , Harley salesmen well i don't know why so many are miserable they should try selling Hondas and have too work for there money

Blackey my mate just bought the cross roads , i sat on it and has a tourer was really really interested , but if i buy one its simple economics i look what i get for my money compared to the RK i will buy later this year , Victory once i add on the accessories prices that they quoted i did'nt make it up , plus the price , then look at the fact they don't have a store in Adelaide the polaris store they recomend but would'nt allow them to do warranty work only service , is a very small shop that deals mainly in farm bikes and jet skis, On top of that the reliability is unknown , and the resale is unknown . Add it all up and i'm fucked if i would pay out more than what i would for a RK .

bUT IF ITS VALUE YOU WANT GO THE TRIUMPH . i swapped my Street bob for the thunderbird and i'm rapped a lot more bike for the money , but now i'm going back to harley and getting rid of my rocket , great bike just too big for a short arse like me . Victory stood a chance but like i said fucked if i'll pay more for one of them than a harley. I do like them though , and my mate is rapped with his , in fact he just road over to Sydney for the opening of there store .

I think he wants a victory jacket and gone to see if there on special , he's scotch ha ha .
