Sent an e-mail to Zanotti Motor in the US for a quote on shipping for the SE stage II 883 to 1200 kit to Australia. Could not believe the cost using UPS, it was $600. I'm better off buying it here in AU for $1900, at least it will be covered if anything goes wrong.

Also does anyone have anymore info on the HD1 Custom program and if it will be available in AU?

    Try http://www.shipito.com/

They are a freight forward company I use for eBay US seller who don't ship internationally. Register with them and they provide you a US address in California. You package arrives, and they provide you up to 8 different shipping quotes, rates and prices for your package. I've used them a dozen times so far and they've been excellent. I will be buying my 1200 conversion kit from Zanottis and sending it through Shipito.

Not $600 that's for sure. Normally they give you a choice of 6 or more freight options. 2-5 day (and it comes in like 2 days!!!!) 5-10 days, 10-25 days and so on.

Couldn't be more than $200 surely. It isn't that heavy or bulky!

M&M's website recognizes the part number but does not have a price. I have emailed them for a quote to compare with Zanottis, and have asked for a shipping price to my Shipito address in Los Angeles

I've never understood US freight costs.  Vary so much from seller to seller.  Want to buy some drop beams for my F100. so about 2m long, and 50kg.  $900 freight, $600 for beams...Got my slip on mufflers (which came in a box that would have fit 10 sets) delivered for $200.

Do any vehicle importers allow you to throw stuff in spare space in containers (like wheels and what not) for a fair cost?

UPS , FEDX, DHL are Privite Shipping Comanys. They Ship in 2 to 4 Days from the US. and you pay for it.

USPS is the US Postal Srevice, it means that the Shipper has to take it down to the Post Office, Fill in Paper Work and then Post it to you. Most US Companys don't offer this sevice. So your stuck with UPS and alike....

I cop it every day from guys tyring to dicktate to me how much the Freight from My supplier to my office should be with out knowning how my supplier works or his condishions of supply

The US have great Postal Rates, you should try going the other way. I had to send some magazies to a mate in LA. 4 in a Post Bag was $75.00 with Austrialia Post.

Yep, M&M's quote for the kit to me was also $1104.96, and shipping to my freight forwarder in LA was just $33.95. But if they've quoted just $129.95 for shipping to Aus (unknown type of shipping and I'm assuming that was to Aus) then that's the way to go!
