Flat tyre emergency

A mate hit a pothole coming down the range last week and blew a tyre. Nearly lost it but he managed to stay upright.

Anyway he got some spray can puncture repair from a local garage and got home OK. I'm off on a ride for a few days and it got me thinking I should carry something so as not to get caught out and have to leave the scoot on the side of the road somewhere to go and find a solution if I got a flat.

What have you used that works and also what isn't worth bothering with?

I've only had a flat once out on a highway when I was a young bloke and I just rang me dad to come and get me and the bike. Bit too old for that now!!

What crasher said can only work with tubeless Mag's, if you have spoke wheels you need a spare tube or punture repair kit & tyre leavers.

i had a flat with a 21" front spoke wheel was able to ride 25k but had to be real carefull on bends ok in straight line, but could not do it on 16" wheels or 19" ( i don't think ) also i hit something once and it cut the rear tyre open, so you can be unlucky and only a spare tyre would work.

I carry a Stop N Go tyre plug kit complete with application tool and 5 off Co2 cartridges with pressure applicator-- will work on tubeless alloy wheels, not spokes (as Krash said above).
Stop N Go products are now available in Oz.

There may be other kits available here that will do the job as well--any idea Walka?

I'm touching wood but haven't had a flat yet, if so, I will rely on Harley Assist, a mate was on a round Australia run when over near Broome or Exmouth got a flat. H.A sent a trailor to pick him up and put him in a motel until it was fixed...gotta love that.
