Can anyone please help me find somewhere to find the part numbers for my bike - 05 Heritage. I'm trying to find something on-line like the Harley Heaven dealers use when identifying parts. Eg. diagram of the bike with each part identified for easy ordering - either locally or on-line.
Had them (HH) find some some torx screws to replace the saddlebag 'bag hanger studs' and also to find shorter rear indicator arms. Can't seem to find anything that helps me identify the part and number.
Here's hoping I'm just looking in the wrong places.
Milo
What parts do you need as I have the 05 softail parts catalogue & can give you the numbers, otherwise the parts catalogue no is 99455-05B which you could buy yourself.
Thanks for your prompt reply. I'm really not sure what they are called but it the torx screws that can be used to take the place of bolts that hold on the saddlebags. I'm looking at taking the bags and pilion seat off on occassions and the bolts look ugly and holes even worse. Then I'm looking at reducing the length of the rear indicator arms otherwise they stick out too far when the bags are removed. Sorry sounds a little confusing because I'm not using the correct terminology.
Hey Milo I used to do the same thing with my Heritage I bought some acorn nuts and small bolts, when I took the bags off I just replaced the "bag" bolts with the short bolts and acorn nuts. It looked really good as the other bolts through the struts were acorns. Am i on the right track with what ur doin?
With the indicators do you have the wide 11" bar with the indicators on the ends of it. (looks ok with bags on but looks like training wheels with no bags on) There is a smaller arm available to suit this or see if you can fit the Deluxe indicators much neater IMO
Thanks all for comments. Yep Burnzi you're right on the money. Looks like the best thing to do is replace the torx with something a little easier to work with and probably a little more appealing.
Will start the replacement process and see how it goes. I'll keep looking for a parts manual so I know what I'm talking about.
Ride safe all and hopefully see you out there. Cheers
