I'm trying, but I can't see the point ?? Wouldn't ya be better off hittin the tar with some great bike roads mapped out in front of you ?? If you are gonna ride that far why not enjoy the road you are riding or am I just strange ??

Old John Denver musn't have liked the country much to deliberately fly his plane out to sea with not enough fuel to get home ?? Probably never owned a Harley though, so didn't know any better ??

just a sugestion, but why not start with a rusty butt ride, do 1000 K's in a day, say Sydney down south to Holbrook & return, or north up to about Nambucca heads & return, make it a condition of the entry to the flat arse ride.
    Just a thought....................

I'd sign up for something like this, Have been looking into the whole IBA/FarRiders thing. Looks like an awesome mission to me.
Especially if concluded with a good feed, a good laugh and a whiskey or ten.

Hows about a "Back of Bourke" Mission.
Bourke NSW is about 1000kms from Brisbane, Melbourne and Adelaide. Sydneysiders might need to take the seanic route to make up the extra Kms, but not by too much.
And The Westralians (assuming they can get their Passports in order) FNQers and Territorians will definitely have covered the distance should they choose to attend.

It's not a big town, but all they really need is somewhere that keeps cold beer and hot meals, and can put up with us talking shit all night.

Actually Bourke & back to Sydney would cover the 1600 odd K's to qualify for the iron butt, But, it's a boring bloody trip once you leave Dubbo.
