G'day all,
I am asking this for a mate who doesnt have internet. He has a flat stell derby cover 2mm thick that is warped when you put a straight edge on it, not kinked as such or anything , just warped enough to make it leak slightly. He wants to know if there is a way to straighten it without stuffing it up more. Buying a new one is not really a good option because he has a lot of money's worth of very nice engraving on it. Can a good engineers shop do something like that? Any advice will be greatly appreciated and passed on to him. Thanks.
FXR you can try this if its only slightly warped put a bead of silican around the cover and let it dry for a couple of days - so it'll form like a thicker gasket
