Hi Guys,
Just wanted to know how many kilometers you have travelled in 1 day on the bike.
The guys i work with that ride bikes are having a crack at doing 1000kms in 24 hours just for the hell of it.
What have you done and what do you reckon.
RISKY
I did Broken hill to Sydney in one day, actually it was from the little town of Cockburn just West of B hill, about 1200 K's, had dinner in Orange & just kept on peddling till I was home. Mind you I was a tad younger then, but now I have more padding where it counts.
Thats some good Kilometers there Guys under your belt.
I think i better get out there more, a lot more!
Check out www.farriders.com.au not a bad read and some serious kms from one side of Aus to the other.
The longest day would have been around 900km middle of winter with nothing but a Brando jacket on heading to Newcastle, I was blue by the time we stopped at the Red Lion hotel near Glenn Innes ( I Think ). Same problem as Darkash with the dark sunnies at night and a mate that forgot to wait for me so I knew where to go LOL. But when travelling with the anchor we generally do between 400 and 700km a day for a couple of weeks. A lot of that was on a Katana, not the most comfortable touring bike but only let me down once (stator problem) but the Suzuki dealer was only a 2km push up the road,nearly killed the missus.LOL.
The two longest days in the saddle for me are;
92 GL1500 Goldwing Adelaide - Brisbane 2,400Km's in 30 hours. Only stopped for fuel & food & crapper.
05 Ultra Classic Sydney - Adelaide 1,428Km's in 15 hours.
Pretty easy with those sort of bikes, I couldn't see me doing those distances on any other type of bike.
Gosford to the Sunshine Coast a heap of times, just on 1000km, a couple of beers when you get there and you sleep like the dead, did it once where it didn't rain for 100 km, 900 in the rain was a hard day.
