I just got hold of some RedLine High Temp ATF for the primary and some Heavy Duty shockproof for the tranny...... just wondering how often these should be changed? Every engine oil change? Every second engine oil change? Once a year?

    Cheers, berms

hey Berms... give Lynden @ Bullet Race Eng @ Ceramic Coating a call. He was the guy that put me onto Redline. Not sure how long between oil changes, but know he said no need at the regular 8K.... let us know what he says?

Gearbox and primary oil will cost you about $30 (probably less) - why wouldn't you change it every oil change. Clean oil = longer engine/gearbox like.

I have 80k+ k's on my 01 Dyna. been useing Redline Heavy shock proof in gearbox about 4 years, shifts beautiful. never changed it yet.

i use Valvoline Type F ATF in primary & have done so from new, change it often.

I have used Redline Motorcycle 20W 60W in motor for about 4 years too, had the whole motor apart one or two years ago?? had to replace the flywhhels as they twisted welded the pin on the new flywheels. i rev the motor to 7,200 when i drag race and the bore & pistons looked good so i'll stick with Redline 20W 60W but it's bloody expencive!
