Well I'm in the middle of moving to Rocky. My bike is already there and I'm back in town monday sometime.
I'm keen to get out on the bike for a run on either Tue or Wed. Not sure where too until I get there and see what roads are open. But I was think about the standard beach run with a refreshment stop at Yeppoon and Emu Park.
So if any Rocky boys up for a ride send me a PM.
Brett,
sounds fine. i will pm you contact numbers.
yeah, im in for sure.
robo61, what time would you have to leave gladstone to be at the westwood? just wonder if we should meet you at the calliope cross roads or even the dululu (sounds right) pub for a quick one first?
my good mate (neighbour) aka the captain, is due in rocky on friday. he is keen for a ride too.
why dont we shoot to caliope and meet with any of the gladstone crew and do the run to bilo then on to westwood......good run......got to be some good pubs on the way, and a few fuel stops for my old girl.
rain hail or shine im in.
evilism what are you doing on saturday?
Just found out that at Westwood pub there is a Bikies Vs Cowboys run this saturday. Free camping and a few games. Run by Central Highlands club. Thats about all I know. Never been before so dont know what to expect.
I'm thinking about taking the swag just in case I feel like getting on it and come back sunday.
phoned another couple of lads today.
1 more maybe a starter.
how long will it take to get to westwood from crossroads (2hrs?)
i heard on the radio today as well the westwood pub is having a shindig on for bikers and cowboys (i think that was right) so i might just throw the swag on as well just in case.
it has been decided,
we are meeting at the gaviel creek road - bruce hiway corner @ 9am.
that should put us down at the cross roads (servo) around the 10am mark for our run through to bilo then onto westwood.
more crew the merrier.
Well 3 of us managed to get out for a ride on Saturday. I met up with Als1200 just south of Rocky. We headed down to Calliope Cross Rd to pick up Robo61. Much to our surprise Robo had brought along one of his prize winning goats for the day.
We left the X roads and headed back north to Raglan pub for our first refreshment stop. It seems Al needs as many refills as his 1200 sporty. From Raglan we cut across to Bouldercombe to refuel before heading up the Razor Back to Mt Morgan.
Robo was keen to get out of Mt Morgan as rumors says there is a few goats up that way that have a striking resemblance to Robo. So next refreshment stop was Dululu pub. Not much to say about Dululu other than the beers are nice and cold. We left Dululu and headed towards Westwood. As we pulled into the pub another group of 7 or 8 bikes arrived as well. There were 20 or so bikes out the back as the Central Highlands Hogs were holding a Bikers Vs Cowboys/Cowgirls event.
Robo's prize goat "Daisy" was getting restless so Robo head back to Gladstone. This left me and Al to have a few beers and discuss out plans for the rest of the afternoon. Ride home or Stay and Party. Well the latter won and bikes brought around the back of the pub. The rest of the afternoon was spent holding up the bar until the wee hours of the morning. It was a great night and being the only two of the biker group staying up to party we got to see that Cowgirls really know how to party.
Both of us were up early and seeing as no one else were, we rolled up the swags and headed for home. After making a bit of noise on our way out of town. It was great to meet other local HD Forum members and look forward to riding with Al and Robo again. We also ran into Evilshovel at Westwood as he had came out just for the afternoon.
Robo, you and your fuc***g goat. it took me 2 hours to clean the shit off my bike from following you.
i thought following cattle trucks through rocky was bad!
Yeah, some pubs get all the good sorts.
good fun staying over the night at westwood, just having a few quiet drinks with the locals......, and great getting away early the next morning before mr plod woke up.
look forward to going for a ride again now.
