The Rta (nsw )are giving the flick to rego stickers 

i asked last year  they said october 

now today they say very soon ...11.1.11

SA is going down that road this year I think.

 Here in N.S.W and every where else ( maybe )

The hole lot is done on the net now

The pink slip ( or white as it is now )

after inspection it is sent electronically

The green slip And the full comp Insurance.

all done the same way.

Besides the cops have scanners now.

 And the way they see it to bad if you dont have  a pc and the net on

with all the computer technology no longer a need and yes it saves a shitload but they don't reduce the rates though. Whenever you are stopped the pigs do a check anyway so there was never any need to have the sticker since each vehicle is fitted with data terminal (not sure about bikes, but only a radio call away anyway)

Interestingly they have a plate recognition camera at Pt Wakefield in SA... in I think 15 months they recoreded something like 150,000 unregistered vehicles passing. That is a huge number and a massive liability to the state should any have an accident as there is no insurance

 Had to larf ...a friend of mine walks into the RTA office to pay for his rego costs

they wouldn't do it over the counter at the time.

 what a joke ,use another persons car and your going to have to ask for the rego papers, not worth the risk driving unless your 100% sure its registered in New South Wales.

Driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle is an offence attracting on the spot infringement notice fines of at least $1012 ($506 for being unregistered and $506 for being uninsured). If the matter goes to court, the maximum fine is $2200 for driving unregistered and $5500 for driving uninsured. Ouch.

dont borrow someone elses car..........

It maybe cheaper for the RTA but certainly no cheaper for us.......

It also creates new ways to get fined and pulled over for god knows what else............

Xmas wife decided we needed 1 more present for one of the grandkids, asked me to go , i toddles off to gets the present, only cos it was for the youngest grandchild the apple of her papas eye and stood around like a fuckwit not knowing what to do , i had cash and theres these machines that you serve yourself with , i've never seen one and did'nt know what too do . Some lady seen my dilima , and pointed me to the end ,where there was an old fashioned cashier,, she laughed and said , her husband was an old fashioned male chauvanist who won't normally go shopping either , and said i stook out like a sore thumb , wandering round in circles .

I just wana go to sleep and wake up in 1970 riding around on my Triumph and BSA Road Rocket ect.....Those were the fuckn days ...No breathos,hardly any laws and when you did get caught they just told ya to fuck of and behave,no fines really,no cameras,2 only two types of beer to chose from and both in long necks and best of all ...no condoms !!
