A proper HD salesman would be forum member and keep up with what's being said about them. Too arrogant most of them. They're only order takers after all, they didn't make the bike so they have nothing to be cocky about. The way sales are heading and the increasing competition, a lot of these blokes don't realise they are only temporarilly employed.
The new ride should help the recovery process Scar altho that ex-Lo would be a sorry loss.

Scar, you can now get a HD from the states up too 2008. Here is a site that gives you the costs and what you can bring in, so many bike dealers are bringing in Harleys $10,000 cheaper than the stealers are charging but then charging full resale price. Check it out, you will save thousands.

Fuck them, these days I dont take shit from anyone I want to buy stuff off. You fuck me around, I give you a mouthful and take my business elsewhere. I dont care if its a drink in a pub or a new part for my bike...Im the customer and the customer is always right. Aussies are far to apathetic and accepting of shit service, so these clowns think they can take us for a ride. Cunts like Gerry Harvey moaning and groaning about shit after years of ripping off the consumer. Get fucked

    Rant over.

Flan, I don't get it what do you mean??? I have a few mates up here that have bought their bikes from the US without problems in fact a couple have sold bikes brought in from the US at profit and are now riding great bikes that have cost them nothing. I will never buy a bike from here again, we have already lost our industries as soon as tariffs were removed.

    Cheers,

Its unfortunate but Harley dealers still do have a edge of snobbery about them , what they need to do is move the Harley salesmen over to the kawasaki department and make him work for his money .

Harley has a massive fan base and the salesman don't have to work , you either buy it or the next bloke does . BUT i do have a feeling its gonna change , when i bought a second bike in July test rode a few different harleys and the triumph thunderbird and bought it , a great bike . use it for round town and shorter journeys , i'm looking at replacing my other bike for touring and guess what the road king has now got a competitor , the victory x roads .

I really do think that between victory , and the modern triumphs harley have some stiff competitopn and better alter there ways .My mate a Harley rider for 30 odd years , bought himself a rocket tourer , after a couple years he wanted a change , he was going back to harley but decided to have a look at the victory x roads , he bought it , i asked him what he thinks he loves it , but ultimitly it was the sales service that sold him , Like he said there both v twins all moderb bikes are reliable they were similar priced , so the smiling helpfull salesmAN GOT THE SALE .

I f Harley don't read this site THEY SHOULD.

Good on ya Scar. Mate bought a Victory Hammer S because of the fuck around by a HD shop and buying a new one. I was with him when he was getting snubbed by sales staff and I equate it to walking in to a JB HiFi shop, they act like it's a priveledge for you to be in their shop when it should be the other way around. Anyway he bought his Victory second hand and on a ride one day he ran into the lady that owned it before him. She said the reason she sold it was the AMC wouldn't allow it in the club. We laughed for a while when she told us that.

Had a blast up the Pacific Motorway on it and apart from the 250 rear she handles like a dream. Congrats on the purchase.

Has Flan said that salesmen would know they did'nt have the bike , but to not even get back to you is just plain ignorant and arrogant , If he was the salesman personaly i would get on the phone and tell his boss , if he was the owner i would ring let him know i bought elsewhere and tell him to get fucked ,

Putting my buisness head on , i run a small buisness and it gives me the shits when someone who works for me treats my customers with disdain , unfortunatly if i'm not told i cannot do anything about it and by the time i find out , its too late by then i've lost a customer, To be honest i was never ever a complainer , but since i started my own buisness i have relized quite often a smart ass employee will have his ass covered by the smart ass manager who knows whats going on , but go over there head and things change . I would let them know they lost a customer , and i would let HDAU know has well , after all they insist on there dealers having nice premises , i'm sure they would like too know when customers are being treated like shit.

Funny you should ask that . it seems to me different dealers do different things . Last May PS told me that the street glide was'nt being imported anymore , but if i want it they had some run out model road kings , and the price was from memory , 27.500 including insurance . BIG DISCOUNT , only had black though and i did'nt want it , plus i want the 103 bigger motor

On a trip to qld , i stopped in a store on the sunshine coast , the guy was a good bloke , i was enquiring on his prices , he told me your from SA we won't sell you a bike , , i told him i have an adress i could registar it from , if thats the problem , his answer was we don't take other dealers money , i laughed and said admire your loyalty but PS won't hesitate.

I stopped at another store in NSW , and when discusing the bikes i told him what PS had said about the street glide not being imported , he laughed and said i've just ordered one it will be in later this year , but retail price was retail price .

And now you guessed it PS have got one in , but salesman can't remember telling me they were not coming in this year , I think that they have struggled and wanted me to buy the discounted models ,

Personaly i'm gonna take the chance that they they will have old stock and heavily discount again I think sales have been hit hard regardless of what they tell you , 7 years ago PS watched me walk out the door on a fatboy cash buy , because they would'nt throe a 50 dollar helmit in stating Harley don't deal , my last 3 bikes i've bought of them in the last 2 and half years i have managed to get real good deals they have given me top trade in and reduced prices on bike and accessories .

I think its gonna get worst , the world reccesion has not hit us yet , labor have been buying us out of it , but there spent up no more money to buy us out so now its a wait and see game . . I think people just have to demand a bit more for there buck , because Harley are just blatanly ripping us off .

Mind you it could be i'm just a tight cunt who wants too much.but it works for me , met a guy the other day he had the same bike has me , same extras , bought within a couple of days off mine last june , and payed 2300 dollars more than me .

I really don't believe its the dealer principal , after all the ones that make lots want more , and the ones that don't make lots want to . has i said before its the salesmen , and the managers who know they have arrogant salesmen .

If the managers are making Quota they don't give a fuck , Harleys sell themselves so the salesman don't have to work, like i said take the salesmen , put them in the suzuki dept and let them struggle for sales and they will change .

But if your getting shit service , let the dealer principal know.
