i was always told wire rope slings etc as the bolt cutters only squash it - so ive got one of the plastic coated ones.

I have a cable as well as a chain, but my chain short. It goes straight from under the bike to the ground, no slack in the chain. Very hard to try and use a set of bolt cutters on it.

I have insurance - the only security measure that works.

My attitude is if they want they are going to take it anyway so in the end insurance is your only friend.

Well then,  if we are going to be uncooperative with the neighbourhood bike thief here is the most secure method:

    1. Store bike overnight in your bedroom

    2. Attached chain from your ankle to the bike frame. Padlock both ends.

    3. Sit up all night in a straight back chair with a loaded shotgun in your lap

    4. Never for one second take your eyes of the bike.

Having done all that, if during the night you nod off and when you wake the bike is gone, you have no one to blame but yourself.

every time i go near my bike / start it whatever, my dog barks his fckn head off , all my mates complain how annoying it is - but small price i say - at least if im home im gunna know if any fucktard is within 5 metres of my bike.

    I highly recommend Almax!
After doing much research on security before I even got my bike I ordered an Almax Chain from the UK.
Awesome lock great people to deal with.
came with a squire padlock which has several spare keys which are all different so if you lose your key you have several backups.

Even with a grinder you would be there for a fair while making lots of noise.

People that haven't seen the other chains being cut in seconds tell me how good their brand of lock is.
I know which one I like leaving the bike locked up with :)
